Physical health:

Keeping our optimum physical health has become a challenge for most of us because of the bad habits we have acquired over the years. Our needs have changed, and although our attitude towards life may stay the same, our habits cause us to deviate from the healthy life we should be living. Our body is the medium that allows us to do things and become whoever we want to be. Without a healthy body, our dreams will be a lot more difficult, if not impossible, to achieve. Maintaining good physical health is not actually a tedious job, it only requires an open and receptive mind.

Water makes up most of our body, so drinking lots of water will reduce your risk of getting sick by strengthening your immune system. Dehydration, which occurs if you have a low water intake, can lead to diseases and pain, limiting your physical activities. Eight glasses of water every day can make you stronger and not gullible to diseases and thus maintain good physical health.

Getting enough sleep can also contribute to maintaining a good physical health. Sleep deprivation can lead to a lot of diseases, and when you sleep your cells get refreshed and your energy replenished making you look younger and fresher. Aside from being an aesthetic factor, getting enough sleep can also recharge your immune system.

Some of us avoid being under the heat of the sun in the fear of developing skin diseases and being burnt. The right amount of sunlight every day can actually be a good thing, since exposure to sunshine in the morning helps your body with its calcium absorption. We all know where we need calcium, and we can keep our physical health at its optimum level when we get the right amount of sunshine exposure every day. Getting enough sunshine also helps with our sleeping habits, as well as stimulate the immune system. Needless to say, sunshine can help us keep a good physical health.

Mental health:

Mental health is as vital as physical fitness and should not be neglected. The key to a fit, energetic, vigorous, and in-shape body is a healthy and active brain. No matter how fit and strong you are physically, if your brain is not functioning well, things aren't easy for you. The human brain resembles the fertile loam where everything nurtures. Being mentally unfit means getting involved in anxiety, depression, or other psychological and physical issues.

Don't misinterpret the concept; read between the lines. Factors like loss, change and disappointment are an integral part of everyone's life. People who are mentally sick generally lose the ability to cope with the tough phases, whereas individuals with healthy brain can easily extricate the challenges thrown at them.

Unless you are born with any mental disability, you can keep your brain healthy and active throughout your life by doing simple things. Feed your brain properly and stay physically active to be mentally fit and sound. Experts suggest that the activities that dare the human brain usually keep it stimulated.
